Etido Kretschmer
Founder & CEO
I am Etido Kretschmer, an Entrepreneur with a passion for creating and managing diverse business ventures, including catering and dry cleaning services. My journey is a tapestry of educational pursuits, global exploration, and a deep-rooted commitment to philanthropy.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology from the prestigious University of Calabar in Cross River State, Nigeria. Presently, I am immersed in a language school in Germany, driven by a profound desire to enhance my communication abilities across various cultures. This endeavor is not just a pursuit; it’s a source of personal fulfillment.
Business Ventures
As the founder of 7C’s Hair and Beauty Studio and the Atim Ekanem Foundation, I wear multiple hats in my professional life. Beyond business, my interests encompass the joys of dance, the enlightenment of literature, and the thrill of exploring innovation and adventure. I’ve always been drawn to unconventional pursuits, such as power biking, skydiving, and embarking on daring escapades.
Primary Focus
My primary focus now is dedicated to the Atim Ekanem Foundation, a mission-driven endeavor aimed at serving the less fortunate in both urban and rural areas of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. This commitment to humanitarian causes traces back to my earliest years. I have always been the one ensuring the happiness and well-being of my family, friends, and loved ones, sharing in their joys and providing unwavering support through life’s trials. Bringing smiles to their faces is my ultimate reward.
Currently residing in Germany with my beloved family, I am fortunate to be married to an exceptional partner and blessed with two wonderful daughters. My roots lie in Nigeria, where I was born into a family of four siblings, holding the esteemed position of the first daughter. In African tradition, the first daughter assumes multifaceted roles as mother, sister, friend, and culinary artist, embodying the essence of family unity. My late mother, a dedicated teacher, exemplified integrity, faith, mentorship, discipline, and boundless love. She remains my role model, and I cherish her memory as a paragon of virtue.
Origin of Atim Ekanem Foundation
The genesis of the Atim Ekanem Foundation can be traced to the loss of my mother, who succumbed to kidney disease complicated by diabetes and hypertension. Witnessing her struggle with dialysis, stringent dietary restrictions, and periodic blood transfusions left an indelible mark on my heart. I served as her caregiver during this trying period. As her condition deteriorated, she eventually decided to discontinue treatment, a moment that pierced my soul.
Subsequently, a close family friend faced a similar fate, unable to afford the surgery despite having a willing kidney donor. This tragic loss underscored the dire need for awareness and education surrounding renal disease in both urban and rural communities. Many individuals remain oblivious to the importance of a healthy lifestyle, regular check-ups, and preventive measures against diabetes, hypertension, and obesity—factors that can precipitate renal issues.
Philanthropic Journey
My forthcoming endeavor entails the establishment of a state-of-the-art dialysis center, equipped to provide kidney screening services in Akwa Ibom State. It is my fervent hope that this dream will soon materialize. I aspire to expand the reach of the Atim Ekanem Foundation, extending its impact beyond the state, throughout the nation, and ultimately across the African continent.
In pursuit of this vision, I am driven by an unwavering passion for what I do. I ardently hope to see my aspirations manifest in the years to come.
With sincerest regards,
Etido Kretschmer
